D91 Adds New Communications Tool
We know parent engagement is the key to student success, so D91 is pleased to launch Remind as the district supported, district approved tool for two-way communication between teachers, coaches and parents and students. Remind’s features include monitored two-way texting, calling and email. In addition, it provides protection for teachers, coaches and students. It also complies with the new board policy governing staff use of social media. If a teacher or coach chooses to use Remind, parents will receive a text or email asking them to set up their account. Remember Late Start Friday!
All D91 schools start an hour later than normal on Fridays so teachers can work in Professional Learning Communities and focus on student achievement. Late Start Friday is part of the district's ongoing efforts to try and ensure all students are successful. In the Professional Learning Communities or PLCs, teachers dig into student data, look at potential gaps in student learning, and discuss ways to address those gaps by changing instruction or offering interventions. Questions about your school start time? Review the School Calendar.
