Title I-A is a federal program designed to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education and achieves proficiency in challenging state standards. This initiative focuses on schools and districts with the greatest needs, providing flexible funding to support at-risk students through additional instructional time, professional development for educators, and extended-time programs. By targeting resources and strategies to high-poverty schools, Title I-A aims to improve academic achievement and create equitable opportunities for all learners to succeed.
Title I Schoolwide Programs
Schools are eligible to become Title I Schoolwide Programs if their poverty level—measured through free/reduced meal counts, AFDC, census, or Medicaid—is at or above 40%. These schools receive comprehensive Title I support to implement inclusive strategies designed to enhance overall student achievement.
