Idaho Falls School District 91’s music department is dedicated to fostering a love for music and artistic expression among students from elementary through high school. With a variety of programs that include band, orchestra, choir, and general music education, the department provides opportunities for students to develop their musical talents, collaborate with peers, and perform at local and regional events. The curriculum emphasizes both technical skills and creativity, encouraging students to explore different genres, instruments, and vocal techniques. Whether students are beginners or advanced musicians, District 91's music department offers a supportive environment for personal growth and artistic achievement.
Our Programs
Elementary Orchestra and Band
■ Classes begin in September and are taught at middle schools or elementary schools.
■ Classes are free, but students will need to provide an instrument and purchase a music book.
■ A perfect introduction for young musicians to develop foundational skills.
Summer Band
■ A 4-week program held during the summer, Monday through Friday, for 45 minutes per day.
■ Includes a small class fee, instrument rental, and the cost of a music book.
■ Keeps students engaged and sharpens their musical skills during the summer break.
District Musical
■ Open to all junior high and high school students in District 91.
■ Auditions are held in December, with practices starting in January.
■ Performances are typically in March or April, showcasing talent and collaboration.
Instrument Rental
■ $85.00 for the school year for all instruments.
■ $30.00 for summer rentals.
■ Affordable options to ensure all students have access to the tools they need for success.
