Safety First: Partnering with Families

Help us keep your children safe! Talk to them about proper behavior while riding the bus or waiting at the bus stop. Here are some important safety guidelines:

At the Bus Stop

Stand on the sidewalk or back from the curb until the bus comes to a complete stop.
If crossing the road is necessary, wait at least 10 feet in front of the bus for the driver’s signal before crossing
No pushing, shoving, or cutting in line.

Be on time to avoid missing your assigned bus.
Only load and unload at your assigned school and home bus stops.

Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
No yelling, screaming, or loud talking.

Prohibited Behaviors

No fighting, harassment, or inappropriate language or gestures.
No destruction of property (restitution required).
No weapons of any kind allowed on the bus.

Other Guidelines

Carry-on items must fit on the rider’s lap.
Food and drinks are only allowed with the driver’s permission.
Maintain clean and unobstructed aisles

Supportive Practices for a Safe Ride

Drivers may take specific actions to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all riders:

Assigning specific seats as needed.
Requesting assistance in keeping the bus clean.
